Crédit Agricole Regional Banks committed to partnering social initiatives in their region

local social projects partnered by Crédit Agricole Assurances over 5 years, for €1.5 million

A bank at the heart of the economy

Crédit Agricole Regional Banks build their performance for the benefit of the people living in their area. More specifically, 85% of profits are reinvested locally. This link is nothing new: Crédit Agricole Group emerged from the regions and its future is in the hands of the men and women working there.

Principled finance

Project finance is the area in which we have the most scope to contribute to good management of the environmental and social impacts of business activity. Serving 1,100 companies and 500 financial institutions worldwide, Crédit Agricole CIB was one of the banks behind the 2003 launch of the Equator Principles. These Principles are now a market standard and are used to assess the risks associated with the environmental and social impacts of project finance.

The customer at the heart of our development

Moving on from traditional satisfaction surveys, LCL’s Efficiency Scheme asks customers to set a recommendation rating, to explain it and then suggest improvements. This method makes for continuous adaptation to changes in what customers want and the business environment. More than a million customers responded to this initiative in 2015.

Taking responsibility for all our customers

In 2013, Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance set up a special branch charged with identifying customers that could be in financial difficulty and assessing their personal situation. With the help of diagnostics tools and telephone conversations, the Group can offer these customers solutions to re-establish their finances that are adapted to the type of debt they have. In 2014, this ‘Agence d'Accompagnement Clients’ assessed 1,816 cases and found a solution for 78% of them.

Alongside the carers

Crédit Agricole Assurances has been committed to associations of home carers since 2010. Over the past five years, over 100 associations have benefited from Crédit Agricole Assurances support in most French regions, and to the tune of almost €1.5 million.

Thanks to this experience, Crédit Agricole Assurances has also designed programmes to help its employees to cope with the responsibility of loved ones no longer able to care for themselves.

Help our employees to help

A great many Crédit Agricole Group employees volunteer their spare time for social projects. To underpin this effort, the Group has set up ‘Solidaires’, a package that supports and values such generosity. It responds to this commitment in three ways:

  • volunteer missions: identifying volunteer missions to benefit associations selected by the Group and offering expertise or time.
  • funding: developing social projects with the help of subsidies available to employees actively involved in an association.
  • events: initiatives to bring people together in relaxed and convivial conditions around special operations to support partner associations.
