Crédit Agricole Assurances challenges ESSEC students

For the first time, Crédit Agricole Assurances took part in the Digital Week Competition staged by the ESSEC Business School.

This innovative competition, which was held between January 4 and 8, gave future graduates the opportunity to think about the digital challenges of tomorrow.

Some 45 teams, comprising 220 French and international students from the eight ESSEC Specialised Master’s programmes, competed throughout the week. Playing the part of young digital consultants, the competitors had to respond like an agency to briefs submitted by corporate partners, including Crédit Agricole Assurances.

For the fourth staging of the event, Crédit Agricole Assurances proposed two topics based on issues raised by the concept of a smart city:

  • What is the role of the insurer in the smart city of tomorrow? Or how can we prevent as many claims as possible by using the Internet of Things and serve our customers on a daily basis?
  • Smart city: a concept entailing smart living, smart buildings, smart vehicles, smart mobility, the connected individual and the connected society.

These proved to be inspiring questions, because the students who answered them won first prize in the Smart City category. They also won the special prize awarded by all the students as well as coming second overall! Their project consisted of launching an Uber of shared ownership by developing the Smartcopro app to insure, manage and connect shared ownership within a smart city.
